Securitize, the BlackRock- and Ark Invest-backed firm that has quietly become the plumbing for Wall Street's tokenization push, is about to step into the public market. The company is set to raise roughly $400 million through its merger with a Cantor Fitzgerald-backed blank-check company and begin trading on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker SECZ on July 2.
What Happened
Securitize is going public through a SPAC combination with Cantor Equity Partners, the deal it first announced back in October. Shareholders vote on June 29, the transaction is expected to close July 1, and the combined company starts trading as SECZ the next day. The headline number is the cash: Securitize retained more than 70% of the SPAC trust, leaving it with around $400 million to fund expansion.
That war chest lands at a firm that already does the work most crypto companies only talk about. Securitize currently tokenizes more than $4 billion in real-world assets, and it's the issuance partner behind blockchain versions of funds from Apollo, KKR, Hamilton Lane, VanEck and BlackRock itself — including BlackRock's flagship tokenized money-market fund, BUIDL.
Why It Matters
Tokenization has gone from a buzzword to a real market, and Securitize is closer to the center of it than almost anyone. The real-world-asset sector has grown past $30 billion on-chain, with bullish forecasts pegging it as high as $18.9 trillion by 2033. A pure-play tokenization company trading on the NYSE gives traditional investors a direct, regulated way to bet on that trend without touching a token themselves.
It also keeps the momentum going for the news that broke alongside the raise: Securitize was just named a preferred tokenization partner by Continental, another sign that the demand isn't only coming from crypto-native shops. Cantor Equity Partners stock climbed around 8% on the funding update.
What's Next
The vote on June 29 is the last real gate. Clear it, and SECZ opens on the NYSE on July 2 as the first listed tokenization specialist of its size — a milestone moment for an industry that has spent years insisting institutions were coming. Now one of its biggest names is asking those same institutions to own the stock.
